Privacy notice
Last updated 10 October 2026
Ask Me More lets you put questions to founders and mentors and get answers drawn from what they have said in public interviews. This notice explains what we collect when you use it, why, how long we keep it, and your rights.
Who we are
Ask Me More is run by [legal name of the business], [registered address] ([company number, if a company]). We are the controller of your personal data. Contact us about anything in this notice at [privacy contact email].
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, the date you signed up, how many questions you have used this month, and whether you have a paid plan. If you sign up with Google, Google tells us your email address and confirms it; our sign-in provider also receives your name and profile picture from Google, which we do not use.
- Your questions and the answers: what you ask each mentor, by typing or by voice, and the answers you are given, kept as your conversation with that mentor.
- Before you sign up: a question you type before creating an account is held for up to 24 hours so you do not have to retype it.
- Upgrade interest: if you press “Upgrade”, the time you did so, so we can email you when paid plans open.
- Abuse prevention: a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, used to limit how often sign-up emails and held questions can be requested. We never store your IP address itself.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies we set keep you signed in.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To provide the service you sign up for: your account, your free monthly questions, answering your questions and keeping your conversations. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the service secure and stop abuse, including rate limits and preventing one inbox from opening several accounts. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, fair service (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To improve answers: we review questions and how well they were answered, to spot gaps. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). [Confirm whether questions are shared with the mentor concerned; if so, say so here.]
- To email you when paid plans open, only if you pressed “Upgrade”. Lawful basis: your request (Article 6(1)(b)); you can ask us to stop at any time.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who process data for us under contract and only on our instructions:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and sign-in emails. [Region of the project.]
- Vercel: hosting the website.
- Resend: delivering sign-in emails.
- Anthropic: writing answers. It receives your question and the conversation so far.
- OpenAI: matching your question to interview excerpts, and turning voice questions into text.
- ElevenLabs: reading an answer aloud, where a mentor offers that, when you press play. It receives the answer text only.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of these providers are in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it is protected by [the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework / the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, as applicable to each provider].
How long we keep it
- Your account and conversations: while your account is open. Deleting your account deletes them.
- A question typed before signing up: 24 hours, then deleted if you did not finish signing up.
- Hashed IP records for rate limiting: about a day.
- Upgrade interest: until paid plans open and we have emailed you, or until you ask us to delete it.
- [Accounts inactive for a long period: state any rule here, e.g. deleted after 24 months.]
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To delete your account and everything in it, email [privacy contact email] from the address you signed up with and we will do it within one month and confirm by email.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Ask Me More is not intended for anyone under [13 / 18]. We do not knowingly collect children's data.
